Flooded Bathrooms

So I was sitting downstairs after church holding Eden and talking with Ethan. I hadn't heard anything from Seth who was upstairs for a while so I asked Ethan what Seth was doing. His answer was simply he's poopy. (Sorry about all the poopy talk lately on the blog :) So I went upstairs to check on him and not only was he poopy, but somehow he managed to plug the toilet and flood the bathroom.
It doesn't end there. Later I heard that the bathroom in the nursery at church had flooded. Which got me wondering so Doug called their teacher. She confirmed my fears that it was probably them. Apparently they had had some problems in the bathroom last Sunday too.
I don't know what to do with them. We will have a serious talk about toilet paper usage though.

Happy Birthday Douglas

Doug turned 28 last Saturday now he can no longer claim to be two years younger than me. Happy Birthday!

I noticed a few days ago that Eden's hair was just barely long enough to put in pigtails, so I had to try. Doesn't she just look so cute?

Update on Eden

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted anything about how Eden is doing. Today I took her back to see Dr. Book, her GI doc, for a check up and labs. We probably won't get her lab results back until tomorrow but everything else is looking good. Which makes me very happy because last week she had a few days of pale/white poop (not good). Over the weekend it started to look better and today it looks great. Last week I was preparing to hear the worst and Dr. Book said she was preparing to tell me that it didn't look like it was going to work, but Eden has proved us wrong. Now I am just praying for consistently good colored poop.

Heavenly Father does hear and answer prayers. Not only is Eden doing better, but through the words of a kind nurse and dr he has also calmed some of my worries. You see with the Kasai procedure the sooner it is done the better chance for a good outcome. Well I had been upset with myself for waiting so long to do anything about Eden's jaundice, and today as I was talking with the nurse she was telling me how Eden was one of the younger patients she had seen to have the kasai done and often times the babies she sees are already three or four months old before they come into the clinic. She couldn't have known that this very subject had been on my mind lately or how much her words would calm my worries. I am thankful for a Father in Heaven who is concerned about each and every one of us and takes the time to hear and answer our prayers.

Thanks to all those that made it possible for Erica and I to go out for a night!

Ethan was walking a little funny cause he was poopy. It was bad enough that Erica decided it was just straight up to the tub.

From the following samples supplied by Douglas Lai we have obtained the following results to 99.9% accuracy:

Sample Reference

Seth Lai

Twin Brother

Identical DNA (Identical Twins)

Ethan Lai

Twin Brother

Identical DNA (Identical Twins)

We decided to get a DNA test for the boys this year and know for sure. We always thought they look different and probably fraternal, but their DNA says differently.

It has begun. Happy 888 to everyone. We are in our basement watching the opening ceremony in HD!!!

Tattle Tale

So yesterday I hear Seth yelling, "Mom Ethan's making a mess." I didn't know quite what to think since they are always making messes, but I figured I better check it out. So I went upstairs to find that Ethan had plugged the bathroom sink and filling it with water. Last time this happened we ended up with water all over the bathroom. So while I am not sure how I feel about tattle tales, I am happy Seth told on his brother.

Death to all Flies

I hate flies
I hate flies
I hate flies
This is what I killed in about 20 minutes in the house after the screen had been open for an hour when the Cub Scouts came over.

Moving in the Right Direction

We went to see Dr. Book, Eden’s G.I. Dr yesterday. She said Eden is looking good and so does her poop! It has pretty good color and her bilirubin is coming down. It still has a ways to go before it is in the normal range, but it has come down quite a bit since before surgery. So Eden is moving in the right direction. We go back to see Dr. Book in two weeks for more labs. It will still be a few months before we know more definitively how things will turn out, but right now she looks good.

Thank you for all of your support and prayers on Eden’s behalf. I know the Lord does hear and answer prayers. Now I just need to be patient and wait.

Silly boys

Seth loves his tie. It doesn't matter what else he has on. He will wear it anyway.

We bought a bumbo chair for Eden. Apparently the boys don't care it is for babies. I am suprised they fit in it.
