Utah Liver Families Picnic

Yesterday was a fun day despite being a little cold. We had our 3rd Liver Families get together. Lulu and Charlie were both there and got to meet some new friends: Kai and Paige.

Sethanisms

My favorite Sethanism of the day yesterday came right before bedtime when Doug was laying down on the floor and the boys leaned over to give him a hug.  Out of nowhere Ethan says, "Dad you have fur in your nose!"

Just some random pictures of the kiddos being silly.

They are giving themselves moose antlers in this pic. :)

Happy Second Birthday Eden!

Ok so I am a little behind on updating the blog. Eden's birthday was actually two weeks ago on the sixth, but never late than never I suppose.

Most expensive Scout Camp

Planned a fun camp for the Boy Scouts going to the Spanish Fork Airport. We got to see planes, and talk to pilots. they completed their Aviation merit badge. In the morning we got to do some GPS work, launch paper rockets, and made model planes. Then loaded up and headed back home. We get back and the other leader asks who hit my car? What I didn't get hit. Walk around to the other side and saw this. Yeah somebody clipped me with a trailer one their way out and didn't leave a note. Went and got estimates yesterday and come in at between $3200-$4500. I guess i should be thankful I have insurance and it doesn't count against me since it was a hit and run. Not the way I want to spend $500 though, paying the deductible.

The Tube Challenge

LuLu's parents both tried putting feeding tubes down their own noses with no luck. Erica had one in the hospital, so she has really been wanting to try putting one down mine. Well I am sorry to say those one year olds can beat all of us. I tried four time and instead of something going down. Some thing came up each time.

Dinner Talk

So last night while eating dinner we got on the topic of mine and Eden's surgery, The conversation went something like this.
Boy: "The doctor cut you open and took a piece of your liver and put it in Eden."
Me: "Yep"
Boy: "How did they close you up?"
Me: "They sewed me up and then glued me together."
Boy: with a very thoughtful almost concerned look then asks, "What kind of machine did they use to sew you up?"
It took me a second to figure out what he was talking about, but then I realized he was thinking the surgeon used a sewing machine to close me up.
I can only imagine the picture they must have had in their heads of the doctors pushing mommy through a giant sewing machine. :)
